Aneri Shah, Director

In March 2020, Aneri was faced with an impossible decision. Her cousin, who was working on the frontlines as an ER physician in NYC asked her, “Will you take care of my newborn if something happens?” This fueled her to begin capturing South Asian and Black women’s stories across NYC, Chicago, and LA, as they fought the toughest battles of their lives and rose as leaders within their respective communities.

Working at the intersection of technology and media for the last 12 years while writing and doing stand-up comedy about her South Asian-American identity, Aneri brings her vibrant voice to her debut documentary film, Beyond the Frontlines.
